Despite the snow chains being fitted, a 20-year-old truck driver slipped on the snowy Kristbergstrasse in the Silbertal in Vorarlberg on Monday afternoon. On a left turn, the driver of the descent left the road and fell over an embankment.
During his involuntary journey through the snowy landscape, the young man was lucky: his heavy vehicle got stuck in a clump of trees after only a few meters, preventing it from falling any further. The driver was not injured and was able to get out of the driver’s cab on his own.
Extensive storage
Recovery of the vehicle was more complicated. A special vehicle was needed to get the truck back on the road. The clean-up work continued into the evening hours.
