Ben Sunday the cloud spiral of a distinctive low-pressure vortex, shifting over the eastern rim of the Alps into Ukraine, is causing heavy snowfall, especially in the north and east. On the southern side of the Alps and in the far west, snowfall or sleet will disappear quickly and in East Tyrol individual sunny windows are most likely. In the area of the fracture zone, the northwest wind often blows more strongly and in the east sometimes even strong, increasing the chance of snowdrifts during the day. In the morning the thermometer indicates minus four to plus two degrees, during the day usually only minus two to plus four degrees.
