Wild scenes took place in the center of Lech on Thursday afternoon. Despite oncoming traffic, a motorist attempted to overtake, resulting in a collision that also injured a pedestrian.
An investigation into the exact course of the accident is still ongoing, but this much is certain: around 3:31 p.m., the man swerved his car to overtake a car driving in front of him. He went over the edge of the road and crashed into two oncoming cars on the passenger side.
Rock and stop touched, pedestrian captured
The car then slid into a rock on the side of the road, and also crashed into a bus stop, where a pedestrian waiting there was also hit by the car. And eventually the car skidded down the roadway, only to get stuck in a pile of snow.
After first aid, the pedestrian had to be flown by helicopter to the LKH Feldkirch. Since the driver of the accident indicated a technical defect in his vehicle as the cause of the accident, this has been confiscated by the public prosecutor’s office and an expert report has been requested.
