A collision between a regional train and a truck ended lightly on Monday evening. The truck with trailer got stuck at a level crossing in Bruck (Pinzgau) around 6:50 p.m. The train collided with the team and came to a stop only 300 meters further on. According to the police, both the truck driver (49) and the train driver (52) suffered injuries.
The truck, which had been transporting an excavator on a low loader, got stuck between the quay and the train. The driver jumped out of the vehicle just in time and, seemingly screaming and waving, ran toward the train. According to the police, there were nine passengers on board the S-Bahn at the time of the accident. They were all unharmed. The rescue took the train driver and truck driver to Schwarzacher Hospital. The Bruck fire brigade also came into action.
The closure of the route and the clean-up work took several hours. The train must be recovered by a special recovery train of the ÖBB. The material damage is enormous. Because an overhead line mast and rail systems were also damaged, the Federal Railways set up a track replacement service.
