6 pm on the A1 – Westautobahn totally blocked for dachshund “Laika”.

Date:

What a beautiful story with a happy ending: highway police blocked the Westautobahn in Haid near Ansfelden in Upper Austria to save the life of a young dachshund. Besides, the dog is a real survivor.

Because on Wednesday evening around 6 p.m., “Laika” had escaped his master at the gas station Ansfelden Nord and had hidden so well that he could not be found. Police officers were constantly looking for the nine-month-old dachshund, but he was swallowed by the face of the earth. Around 10 a.m. on Thursday, a report came in that a dog was walking around on the road to Salzburg at the Traun motorway exit. A renewed “manhunt” was again unsuccessful.

Lock to search for “Laika”.
Then at 12:03 the next sighting, a little way from the Traun autobahn exit. The API Haid police officers did not hesitate for a moment and completely blocked the western autobahn towards Salzburg to search for “Laika”. Sure enough, they found the dachshund sitting under a guardrail. Safe, but a little scared. He had survived 18 hours on the busy West Autobahn!

Then, three hours later, the happy ending: the police officers were able to return “Laika” to her master.
