A teacher (37) at a secondary school in Flachgau is suspected of multiple assaults on schoolgirls. The Ministry of Education has since fired the man. The Salzburg State Criminal Investigation Department is conducting an investigation.
As the “Krone” reported, Thursday’s letter to parents caused horror. The principal of a secondary school in Flachgau had to report that a member of his teaching staff was suspected of being a sex offender. The victims: are underage students.
The education department responded promptly and released the affected teachers after the allegations became known. “This is the most important thing to take a safety precaution,” said Salzburg’s director of education, Rudolf Mair.
Apparently repeated incidents
A report has also been filed against the 37-year-old Austrian. “The state criminal investigation department was in charge of the investigation,” a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office confirmed. The education department also wants to investigate the cause internally.
The letter to the parents states that there have been repeated incidents. No information is available on the nature and frequency of the abuses described by the schoolgirls.
The teacher should not have been guilty of anything for that. “Nothing is known at the moment,” says director of education Mair. “Before we accept someone as an employee, we look at it.” He also said there was “zero tolerance” for any violations. “We will continue with the necessary consistency.”
