Hits behind hills – Kremlin fears: Ukraine uses precision missiles

Date:

Moscow says Ukraine is using US-type GSDB missiles. Such a precision missile, with a range of 150 kilometers, has been shot down by the Russian air defense, the Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced on Tuesday. The US promised Kiev the missiles in early February. Belarus, meanwhile, blamed NATO for agreeing to the stationing of Russian nuclear weapons on its territory.

According to a report by the Russian news agency TASS, the foreign ministry said that the government in Minsk was forced to do so because of the aggressive actions of NATO countries, which threaten the security of Belarus. As Minsk further announced, it is not a violation of international nuclear non-proliferation treaties, as Belarus will not have control over the weapons.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last weekend that tactical nuclear weapons will be stationed in neighboring Belarus. Belarus is Russia’s closest ally in its war against Ukraine, but has not sent troops into battle itself.

Ukraine repelled several drone strikes
Ukraine repelled several Russian drone strikes on Tuesday night, according to information from Kiev. 14 of Iran’s 15 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones were shot down, the Ukrainian General Staff said. The head of the Kiev Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, accused Russia of “terror against civilian infrastructure” after the new drone strikes.

Ukrainian forces in Kiev also reported that more than 60 Russian ground attacks had been repelled within 24 hours. According to this, the Russians were primarily trying to take the strategically important city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, which had been fought over for months. Fighting has been going on over Bakhmut since late summer and for two months the fighting has turned into the bloodiest battle of the Russian offensive war that has been going on for more than a year.
