On February 24, 2023, a serious motorcycle accident occurred in Graz-Strassgang, in which two Grazers (25, 29) were injured. It is now known that the passenger has died from his serious injuries.
A 25-year-old and a 29-year-old rode a motorcycle together. At around 3 p.m., the 29-year-old driver accelerated his motorcycle after a traffic light turned green near the Wagner-Jauregg-Straße/Kärntnerstraße intersection and continued on his way west.
Wanted to avoid a head-on collision
He recognized a vehicle that had already stopped in front of him and was blinking to the left. According to his own statements, the motorcycle accelerated, whereupon he tilted the motorcycle to the left to avoid a head-on collision. The two men on the motorcycle fell.
After the emergency doctor provided first aid at the scene of the accident, the 25-year-old was taken to Graz State Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 29-year-old was injured to an unknown degree and was taken to Graz Accident Hospital. Police have now announced that the younger passenger has succumbed to his injuries.
