At the end of December last year, a sinister series of arson attacks began in Marchtrenk (Upper Austria). It was quiet until this week. Flames broke out again on Friday.
The fire brigade was present for the fourth time on Friday morning at a fire in an agricultural building in Marchtrenk – the management is powerless. Around 09:00 there was a rafter fire in the vacant farmhouse.
Two fire brigades in action
The Marchtrenk and Kappern fire brigades arrived on site with a total of 35 people and were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The only difficulty was the location of the fire, as the building clearly already has major structural defects. A ban on the use of part of the building has been in place since the beginning of this year.
Break since December
At the end of December 2022, there were two fires in the courtyard. This week the series suddenly continued: Tuesday evening, as reported, a fire broke out in a storage room. Everything points to arson.
