Could be “anywhere” – perpetrators still on the run after Texas shooting

Date:

The man who allegedly shot five people in Texas on Friday evening is still on the run. According to the FBI, he is “armed and dangerous.” He could be “everywhere” but probably no longer near the crime scene.

As reported, the 38-year-old is suspected of shooting people in a residential building with a rifle. His neighbors had previously urged him to stop shooting in his yard because a baby was trying to sleep. The drunk man refused. He then appeared at the front door with a gun. Alerted police found four dead when they arrived at the home, and another person later succumbed to gunshot wounds in hospital. According to Sheriff Greg Capers, an eight-year-old child is among the victims.

Five people survived the bloody act unharmed. According to the sheriff, the people were killed “almost execution style” with shots to the head or neck at close range. The people were from Honduras, having just moved from metropolitan Houston to the nearby town of Cleveland a few days earlier.

More than 100 police officers on duty
More than 100 police officers searched for the suspect on Saturday. Sometimes they combed the densely forested area around Cleveland on horseback. They found the man’s cell phone and clothes he left behind, Capers said. Track dogs, however, would have lost track. According to the sheriff, there had previously been complaints that the Mexican shot his rifle in the front yard. On the night of the crime, the police received several calls.

According to the Houston Chronicle, several weapons were secured in the suspect’s home, including the semi-automatic weapon allegedly used in the murders. The perpetrator may have taken other firearms from his possession during his flight. Texas gun laws are considered lax. A powerful lobby fights for the right to bear arms for self-protection.
