Shock moment for a teenager on Thursday evening in Wörgl in the Tyrolean Unterland! An unknown cyclist ran up to the 15-year-old and tried to grab the pram in which her 9-month-old sister was sitting. The teenager managed to prevent this – but her handbag was stolen. A search for the culprit turned up nothing.
The incident happened around 6:45 p.m. Thursday night. The 15-year-old local went for a walk with her little sister in Wörgler Bahnhofstrasse and took a short break on a park bench. After putting down her handbag, an unknown cyclist suddenly rushed towards the teenager and wanted to take the stroller from her.
Teenage girl reacted quickly with understanding
The 15-year-old was just able to hold onto the stroller, “whereupon the suspect stole the handbag left on the park bench and fled in the direction of Christian-Thaler-Strasse,” the detectives say.
Police are hoping for witnesses
The alerted police immediately started a search. “Despite the location of the AirPods in the handbag, the suspect could not be traced to date,” the police said.
The perpetrator is between 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a black hoodie with a pulled-up hood and black Southern-type sweatpants. He rode a dark bike.
