There were shocking scenes on a night bus in Vienna on Monday evening. A 22-year-old passenger suddenly pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at the bus driver (45).
In the meantime, the suspect allegedly asked the 45-year-old to continue driving. The 22-year-old only got off at the station in Moritz-Dreger-Gasse in the Floridsdorf district and fled. Moments later, the bus driver immediately alerted the police.
Walking around with a gun
During the ongoing search, the officers managed to locate and arrest the suspect in Dopschstrasse due to his loud screams. He also had the gun with him.
Empty weapon seized
According to police, the deceptively real-looking weapon was an empty pistol. It could also be secured.
The suspect stated that his motive was that he had consumed cocaine and was subsequently followed. The police cannot rule out a mental illness at this time.
