Ukraine sends 45 buses for Mariupol . evacuation
The Ukrainian government today announced the deployment of 45 buses for the evacuation of Mariupol after confirmation from the International Committee of the Red Cross that Russia remains ready to allow a humanitarian corridor.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Head of Reintegration of the Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, has indicated that 28 buses should be allowed to pass through the Russian checkpoint in the city of Vasilievka and that 17 more had left the city of Zaporizhzhya.
“We will do everything possible so that the buses enter Mariupol today and pick up people who have not yet been able to leave the city,” he added, quoted by Ukraine’s Unian agency.
