Strike for Palestine – demonstration marches into the US Capitol building

Date:

A group of pro-Palestinian protesters illegally entered a US Capitol building. The organizers of the protest speak of about 400 people who, led by 25 rabbis, invaded the ‘Cannon House Office Building’.

Several dozen protesters posing as members of the Jewish group Jewish Voice for Peace were arrested after entering the office building, the New York Times reported.

“Not in our name”
The demonstrators, most of whom wore black T-shirts that read “Jews now say ceasefire” or “not in our name,” were tied up with zip ties and led away.

The US Capitol Police confirmed the incident on Platform X. There were three incidents of assaults on officers. The demonstrators would still be arrested.

Riots in Germany
Police in Germany also took action again on Wednesday against unauthorized meetings about the conflict in the Middle East. “Groups of people in a heated mood” had gathered in the Berlin district of Neukölln, police said in the evening on the online service X (Twitter).

Fireworks, stones and bottles were thrown at the officers from the crowd and the police used water cannons. Police also took action against a banned meeting in Frankfurt am Main.

“We see people randomly throwing objects on the street, setting them on fire and filming themselves and celebrating,” said Berlin police, describing the situation in Neukölln. Garbage bins and obstacles were placed on the road. According to the information, several arrests were made. “There is resistance to these arrests, so our colleagues must use immediate force,” the police say on X.
