The motorcyclist who crashed Friday afternoon on the Felbertauernstrasse in Mittersill (Salzburg) has died from his serious injuries.
The 29-year-old from the Lienz district came on his motorcycle from Mittersill towards Lienz. The man’s brother and his girlfriend followed the man on their motorcycles. For unknown reasons, the man drove too far to the right on the shoulder. Unable to control the machine, he hit his head against an upright, sustaining fatal injuries.
First aid measures came too late
A doctor from Germany who happened to pass by carried out the first measures. The two family members received first aid and were cared for by the crisis intervention team. The road in the vicinity of the accident site was only drivable in one lane. Due to the clearing work, there was a short traffic jam on the route.
