Two roommates in a shared apartment in Vienna-Floridsdorf often argue about everyday things. However, the argument escalated on Sunday when one of the two – a 46-year-old man from India – attacked the other resident with a meat cleaver. The victim was hit in the head.
The emergency services were called to the apartment in Floridsdorf at 7:15 am. The 29-year-old housemate suffered serious head injuries in the attack. The suspect (46) was arrested by officers and the victim was taken to hospital.

According to police, the motive was probably a long-simmering argument about everyday things. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, North Division, is conducting further investigation.
