Two people were injured in a serious accident in Glatzau, in the southeastern Styrian district: when a deer jumped onto the road, an 87-year-old driver swerved the vehicle and left the road. The car then fell into the Pöllingbach. The driver was slightly injured and a passenger (82) was seriously injured.
Behind the wheel of the car was an 87-year-old from the Graz-Umwelt district. He came off the B73 around 7 p.m. and drove west through the Glatzau area on the Pöllingweg. In the car with him were the passenger of the same age (GU district) and an 82-year-old passenger from the Southeast Styrian district.
In a bend to the left, a deer suddenly jumped into the road. The driver was unable to stop his car in time and the car fell off the wet road surface in the right bend. As a result, the car crashed into the Pöllingbach and all airbags in the vehicle were deployed.
All people were taken to the LKH Feldbach by the rescue team. The man was slightly injured, the 82-year-old suffered serious pelvic injuries, the 87-year-old was unharmed.
