The former director of the Vöcklabruck municipal office already has three doctorates and two master’s degrees. Now he has completed – for decades the “walking encyclopedia” – an “excellent” bachelor’s thesis in philosophy at the University of Salzburg. And at the age of 88 (!) years.
He is a specialist in history – now Franz Satzinger wrote history himself: after three doctorates and two master’s degrees, he completed a bachelor’s degree in philosophy with honors from the University of Salzburg at the age of 88.
In his work “Boethius and his significance for the universal dispute” he discussed in detail Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius, a late antique Roman scholar, politician, philosopher and theologian. History and theology are also the hobbyhorses of the lawyer, who was director of the Vöcklabruck city office for 35 years. He is also considered one of the founders of cable television in Vöcklabruck.
Known as a ‘walking lexicon’.
For decades he has been known far beyond the city limits as a ‘walking encyclopedia’ of the history of his hometown. Two of his three dissertations were also about the history of the city and the Catholic parish of Vöcklabruck.
After title number six, Satzinger now wants to end his academic career. He would now like to devote himself to a younger chapter in the city’s history, namely the period from 1945 onwards.
