Quarantine eased – Corona: Bulgaria facilitates entry

Date:

Bulgaria has relaxed its corona rules. Anyone entering the country from another country now needs 3G proof, regardless of the number of infections, so they don’t have to quarantine. Previously there were different requirements depending on the Corona situation. In addition, the state lifted the mask requirement.

A 3G certificate is now sufficient for quarantine-free access to Bulgaria. Depending on the vaccine, this is at least one or two vaccinations, a recovery or a test (PCR test that is not older than 72 hours or an antigen test that is not older than 48 hours). If a person does not provide such evidence, he must be quarantined for ten days, which can be lifted with a negative test. Until recently, entry without proof was not allowed.

Mouth and nose protection recommended in clinics
Another relaxation concerns the mask requirement: this fell on Friday in closed public areas such as supermarkets and recreational facilities. The same applies to the prescribed corona distance. However, health authorities still recommend wearing a mouth and nose guard on public transport and in clinics.

Fewer new infections, but low vaccination coverage
The number of new infections is steadily decreasing in the country of 5.5 million inhabitants. According to information from Friday, there were 1,135 people. The seven-day incidence last week averaged around 130 per 100,000 people. When it comes to corona vaccinations, Bulgaria is still at the bottom of the EU list with almost 30 percent of those vaccinated.
