Around 2 p.m., the 57-year-old skied from the Holzalmbahn mountain station in Hochfügen (Schwaz district) on the red marked slope towards the valley station. “At an altitude of approximately 1,800 meters above sea level, he left the organized ski area and continued his journey in the free ski area,” police said.
Shoulder injuries
The German encountered rough terrain, fell, slid over a steep step in a water-bearing ditch and injured his shoulder. The victim’s colleagues made the emergency call. The 57-year-old received initial care from the pister rescue team and was then rescued by the rescue helicopter team “Heli 4” with the help of a rope and taken to the hospital in Schwaz.
