Last Friday’s Israeli retaliatory attack apparently caused more damage in Iran than the mullahs’ regime would like to admit. Satellite images now published should prove that an anti-aircraft radar system in Isfahan has been hit.
The images taken by Planet Labs PBC show clear burn marks around a so-called flip-top radar system used for Russian S-300 interceptor missiles. “This attack demonstrates Israel’s ability to penetrate Iran’s air defense system. “The precision with which this happened is quite remarkable,” Nicole Grajewski, a fellow at the Carnegie Foundation’s nuclear program, told the news magazine Spiegel.
Israel’s military strike followed an attack by Iran on Israel with more than 300 drones and missiles on April 13. This followed the death of two Iranian generals in an attack on an embassy building in the Syrian capital Damascus. This attack was attributed to Israel. It has long been Israel’s practice not to comment publicly on reports of military operations abroad. Many countries expressed concern about the incidents and warned of an escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
Tehran: “Attack not worth mentioning”
The government in Tehran also has no interest in it for the time being. Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani emphasized on Monday regarding the attack in Isfahan: “The incident was a diversion and not worth mentioning. Therefore, we will not prosecute him further.”
