After a few drinks, a 47-year-old got behind the wheel on Sunday evening. In the urban area of Spittal (Carinthia), she wanted to ‘pick something up’ while driving.
The woman from the Spittal an der Drau district was walking along Edlinger Strasse in Spittal around 2:15 a.m. when she had the idea to duck. “The woman tried to pick something up and lost control of her vehicle,” the police reported. “She hit a car parked on the side of the road, turned over and landed on its roof.”
Driving license revoked
Fortunately, the woman was able to free herself from the vehicle, but she suffered injuries of unknown nature. “A breathalyzer test performed on the spot showed a moderate degree of alcoholism,” is how the police explain the temporary withdrawal of the driver’s license. After initial treatment, the woman was taken to the Spittal hospital, during which time the Spittal volunteer fire department had to clean up the accident scene.
