Until now, wiping hasn’t been Dyson’s domain. After a first attempt last year, the manufacturer, previously best known for its vacuum cleaners, now wants to know and is presenting its first wet cleaner, the WashG1. Can it compete with scraps and buckets?
With its “Submarine” – reported krone.at – Dyson launched the first mop attachment for its V15s Detect cordless vacuum cleaner at the end of last year. The only catch: the wet roller, which is available as an official accessory from the manufacturer for 195 euros, is currently only compatible with the mentioned device and can therefore not be used with other Dyson vacuum cleaners. “Our current software is not compatible with wet floor cleaning,” reads the manufacturer’s website. A villain who thinks ill of it.
Anyway, the result: anyone who wanted to mop electrically with a Dyson had to resort to the complete package of vacuum cleaner and mop attachment, which at around 900 euros was anything but cheap. The WashG1, which has recently become available on the Austrian market, is now the manufacturer’s first “real” wet cleaner. Virtually a standalone device. However, anyone hoping for significant savings will be disappointed.
