A hike in the Oberbergtal in Neustift in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley ended tragically for a 70-year-old resident. The pensioner suddenly collapsed, attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
The 70-year-old left the Oberissalm on Friday around 3 p.m. in the direction of the Franz-Senn-Hütte in a hiking group of 60 people in the Oberbergtal in Neustift im Stubai. After about 15 minutes of walking, the man suddenly fell to the ground for no apparent reason and became unresponsive.
First aid measures failed
Members of the group immediately began CPR measures and also began the rescue chain. The crew of the first aid helicopter continued the first aid measures – unfortunately in vain. The 70-year-old died at the scene.
