A 25-year-old from the Leibnitz district died on Thursday in a work accident in Gersdorf an der Mur (Styria). Three junk cars stacked on top of each other fell on the young man as he stood next to a forklift.
The accident took place on Thursday around 2:30 p.m. at a company in Gersdorf an der Mur, Leibnitz district. The 25-year-old was driving a forklift to load containers of scrap metal into a warehouse. This storage area also contained three scrap cars stacked on top of each other.
The young man must have gotten off the forklift. For some unknown reason, the pile of three pressed junk cars fell over and buried the 25-year-old.
The emergency doctor could only determine death
After a while, his colleagues realized that something had happened. They liberated the young Styria and provided first aid. The emergency doctor and the rescue service arrived by helicopter, but unfortunately too late. The only thing that could be determined was death. The labor inspectorate and the crisis intervention team were on site, further investigation is necessary, according to the police.
