Serious traffic accident in Thannhausen: Two cars collided head-on on the B72 on Wednesday afternoon. A man and his passenger were slightly injured and a 55-year-old was seriously injured.
Just before 2:30 PM on Wednesday, an accident took place in Peesen, a district of Thannhausen (Weiz district): two cars collided head-on on the B72. A 69-year-old from Eastern Styria and his passenger (70) were slightly injured.
The woman in the other car was not so lucky. The 55-year-old from the Weiz district had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is still unclear how the accident could have happened. According to the police, it could not be determined that the drivers were under the influence of alcohol.
The B72 was closed to traffic for over an hour. The volunteer fire brigades of Weiz and Landscha recovered the accident cars, both of which were a total loss.
