A serious traffic accident occurred in Salzburg on Sunday afternoon. Four people were injured, including a four-year-old boy.
The accident happened in the town of Koppl in the Flachgau district. Initial investigation has revealed that a local woman (30) collided with an oncoming vehicle during a turning maneuver at the intersection of Wolfgangsee Bundesstraße (B 158) and Plainfelder Landesstraße (L 220).
At the wheel was a 30-year-old Serb who was traveling towards Salzburg with his wife and son (4).
Admitted to hospital after initial treatment
The violent side impact left all occupants of the vehicle with unspecified injuries. After initial care from the Red Cross, the injured were transferred to the University Hospital in Salzburg and to the Salzburg Accident Hospital.
The Koppl volunteer fire brigade took care of the clean-up work at the accident site. Both vehicles were severely damaged and could no longer drive. An alcohol test carried out on the spot on the two drivers was negative.
