The case of a horror animal transport that was stopped in Styria causes dismay. After a day vacation, the saddle tractor was allowed to stay to Italy with more than 250 calves. The driver previously paid a high punishment.
No fewer than 265 calves, many only two weeks old, cried together on three floors of a tractor, on the way from Estonia to Noord -Enitalia: on Thursday the state traffic department of the styric police no longer stopped on the Südautobahn (A2) at Ilz.
Animals sucked on bars
All animals were weakened and members of a big thirst, many sucked on the bars. The drinking system was rusty and broken, the van was actually designed for pigs. Even the prescribed break of an hour after nine -hour drive was not observed.
Two calves died
Two calves did not survive the horror ride. The official veterinarian had the animals loaded in a stable in the Veverberg district. The decision was made on Friday evening: the transport was allowed to continue. Only two calves were classified as not propagant, they remained in styria. The driver had to pay a fine on the spot in an amount of five.
