Due to the high demand for Covid booster vaccinations, the city is now expanding the existing offer again. The reason: Sunday there was a maximum waiting time of two hours for the corona vaccination in the Austria Center (ACV). The federal capital just released the fourth stitch to anyone aged 12 and older just eight days ago.
Municipal vaccination centers are reopening six days a week – the first starting next Monday – and new vaccination dates are being activated. The main vaccination route in Vienna is the ACV. The municipality pointed out on Monday that increasing congress activity in the ACV could continue to lead to longer waiting times.
Recording stops are also possible. The current use of the ACV vaccination line can be found at www.acv.at/de/gesundheitsservice/impfen. At the weekend, those people who could no longer be vaccinated or who did not want to wait that long were given a vaccination voucher for other centers.
12,600 received a refresher course last week
Last week, 12,599 people in Vienna received their booster vaccinations. In order to process the extra demand with the shortest possible waiting times, the city’s vaccination centers will reopen from Monday to Saturday with two vaccination streets per vaccination center, the city announced on Monday.
The TownTown vaccination center in Landstraße will open next Monday. From July 18, the vaccination centers Karmelitergasse in Leopoldstadt and Gasgasse in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus will also be open from Monday to Saturday. Only in three weeks, on July 25, the vaccination centers Schrödingerplatz in Donaustadt, Schöpfwerk in Meidling and Wassermanngasse in Floridsdorf will extend their vaccination times from Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to expanding the physical vaccination offer, more data will gradually be activated for all vaccination centers. These can be booked as usual by telephone via the health telephone number 1450 or online at impfservice.wien, the city said.
Above all, basic vaccination must be completed
Viennese is requested to take advantage of the offer. In particular, basic vaccination – ie three vaccinations – should be completed. The refresher course, or the fourth stitch, can be taken at your own request. This is especially recommended if there is a lot of contact in everyday life, especially at work, at events or for traveling abroad.
