When, on Wednesday afternoon in Heiligenblut, a stronger wind suddenly rose, an approved Schwendfeuer began to spread dangerously from a large green area. “When the owner noticed this, she immediately informed the voluntary fire brigade,” the police report.

The weirs of Heiligenblut and Großkirchheim were welcomed when dark smoke arrived. “Smaller open fireplaces in the forest can also be observed,” the police said. “The starting forest fire was quickly brought under control because of the forces used and then removed.” Despite the rapid intervention of the approximately 40 emergency services, material damage on an area of ​​nearly 1000 square meters was increased at an even unknown amount.

No material damage to Dijkbrand
A fire took place on an open space in Millstatt just a few hours earlier. Near a house with one family, Dark Smoke stood up shortly after 1 p.m.

“Upon arrival, the officials discovered that there was a fire in the area of ​​a dike,” the police report. “The Laubendorf fire brigade has already started the extinguishing work. Moments later the FF Millstatt arrived and after a short time it could be ‘branded’.”
