Two Israeli embassy staff were shot in Washington on Wednesday (local time). The attack was near the Capital Jewish Museum. The alleged murderer shouted “Freedom, Free Palestine” as American media reported.
The two victims had participated in an event in the museum before the shots fell. According to the head of the Metropolitan Police Department, Pamela Smith, there was already an arrest. “We assume that the shooting was committed by a single suspect who is now in custody. For the shooting, the suspect was observed how he went up and down for the museum,” Smith said.
Ostatic perpetrators were the target of the group of people
The 30-year-old suspect approached a group of four people, pulled a gun and opened the fire. Then he went to the museum, where he was arrested by the security staff. The alleged perpetrator shouted: “Freedom, quite Palestine.”
Killed victims “shortly before the engagement”
According to Yechiel Head, the Israeli ambassador in the United States, the victims would have been a “young couple short before the engagement”, as the Omroep CNN reported. “The young man bought a ring this week with the intention of his girlfriend to make a marriage request in Jerusalem next week. They were a great couple,” Ladder said.
