PSNI forces arrived in the residential area of Derry on Tuesday night after a “massive explosion” was reported.
Detectives at the city’s Strand Road station say they are investigating the accident and are addressing witnesses.
Police received a report around 11:20 p.m. on Ridgeway Drive and that the parked car had been damaged, possibly due to the shooting.
Customers arrived immediately, during which several investigations were carried out.
Detective Inspector Garrett Laffer said, “The vehicle sustained significant damage and at the moment, one of the lines of investigation is that the damage was caused by a bullet.
As we continue to investigate the incident, I urge anyone with information about the incident to contact us.
“Specifically, we’d like to hear from anyone who was on Ridgeway Drive around 11:20 p.m. and noticed anything unusual, including anyone behaving suspiciously.
