The Northern Ireland Assembly elections will be held on May 5, but if you want to vote by mail, there is no time to run.
The deadline for submitting an application to vote by mail is Tuesday, April 12 at 5.00 p.m.
To apply, register to vote and then download the application form from the Northern Ireland Electoral Office website.
On the application form, you are asked to explain why you cannot go to the polling station in person to vote.
Read the notes in the guide before filling out the form. You may need to check the form as the other person confirms the accuracy of the information provided.
When completed, return the application form: Absentee Voting Office, Northern Ireland Polling Station, 15 Church Street, Belfast BT1 1ER.
You can also use the same procedure to request a vote on your behalf.
The Elections Office says it can only accept original application forms, but not scans.
If you are registering online, you will need to provide your Digital Registration Number (DRN) on your Postal Voting Application.
You will be notified of your DRN when you register online.
However, if you need more information about your DRN, please call the Elections Helpline at 028 9044 6680 or fill out the DRN online form on their website.
If you apply to vote by mail and your application is approved, you will not be able to vote at the polling station unless you cancel your mail ballot. Postal cancellation deadline is April 12, Tuesday, 5 p.m.
To check if you have a permanent mail ballot or other questions about your candidacy, call the Electoral Office at 028 9044 6680.
