Date:

Otxandiano conveyed the proposal in his speech during the scrutiny session of the Basque Parliament. In his response, Lehendakari Pradales has expressed “doubts” about the motives, although he has said that “the doors of Ajuria Enea will be open” if it is an “honest” approach.

EH Bildu’s spokesperson in the Basque Parliament, Otxandiano hairhas proposed to the Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, a global agreement to approve the budgets of the Basque government and the three councils of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, a proposal about which the Lehendakari has expressed his “doubts”, although he has left the door open.

Otxandiano conveyed the proposal to Lehendakari Pradales during his speech last Friday during the scrutiny session of the Basque Parliament.

The spokesperson of the sovereigntist coalition has called on the Lehendakari, the PNV and the PSE-EE – the two parties that support these four institutions – to negotiate to reach this budget agreement that would include the four main institutions’ of this part of the country . “.

“EH Bildu would support the budgets of the four institutions if each of them relied sufficiently on the proposals we have already sent to the political parties and we will describe them in detail in the coming days,” Otxandiano said.

Likewise, Otxandiano has stated that “it is not true” that the political projects of EH Bildu and the PNV are “incompatible” and “antagonistic”. “There is a wide margin for cooperation, to be able to formulate a project for an egalitarian country,” he added.

In his response, the Lehendakari Pradales has expressed “doubts” about a global budget agreement because it does not know whether it “responds to the responsibility of the country or to the political tactics“.

Pradales recalled that he had held a round of meetings with the parties, during which he met with EH Bildu on July 15, and that he had presented them that day with a document addressing these issues (improvement of social services, housing… .) were discussed. “Today, three months later, you are raising the same issues. I accept it with good eyes, we made a proposal with good intentions, yours leaves us with doubts,” he said.

Despite the reluctance, the Lehendakari has left the door open: “We will see in the coming weeks whether the facts accompany the words he said here today, there will be different occasions such as the Health Pact or the budgets. If your approach is honest, the doors of Ajuria Enea will be open“.
