“What a Century” is the name of the new book by “Krone” foreign policy chief Kurt Seinitz – in it he analyzes the key factors that led to the current turning point. And he predicts developments that politicians do not (yet) openly express: “In the future, things will be worse for us than before. The peace dividend will be lost because there will be rearmament, turning away from globalization will require production in Europe which will be good but more expensive. And the cheap Russian energy will probably no longer be available.”
NATO’s expansion to Sweden and Finland, which has just been announced, is now the exact opposite of what Vladimir Putin had asked for at the start of the year – more or less the reversal of NATO’s eastward expansion. On the contrary, NATO is growing bigger than ever, says Seinitz. Putin has now reduced his strategic target to eastern Ukraine after the initially hoped-for short three-day war with the capture of Kiev failed.
In the video above, you can see many other current foreign policy analyses, such as the dispute over the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, which lies between Poland and Lithuania.
