The holiday season is coming to an end. The ÖAMTC warns of heavy return traffic in Austria, especially on Saturdays.
“The return journey north will prevail over the transit routes over the weekend,” the ÖAMTC mobility information predicts. Although many travelers already postpone the return trip from vacation to other days of the week, the most important travel days are still Saturday. According to the ÖAMTC, the Karawanken Tunnel – Villach – Salzburg – Munich axis will again be the biggest burden this weekend.
Due to the Ironman Zell am See-Kaprun and the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon, important connections are also closed on Sundays. Motorway exits are also likely to be affected. An up-to-date route planner can be found online.
