On Monday morning around 6.30 am a spectacular accident took place in the Vorarlberg market town of Lustenau. The van of a Swiss energy company first broke through a hedge on Philipp-Krapf-Strasse and then crashed into a facade, behind which a family was just having breakfast.
It is still unclear how the driver ran off the road with his van, broke through the hedge and eventually got stuck in the facade of the family apartment on Philipp-Krapf-Strasse in Lustenau.
According to initial information, the driver of the accident vehicle, which was badly damaged in the accident, was fortunately only slightly injured.
In any case, the family who live in the affected apartment and were eating breakfast at the time of the accident were also very lucky. The window seat – usually the mother’s seat – would have remained free Monday morning.
