Police are currently investigating possible vaccination fraud related to the corona pandemic in a doctor’s office in Vienna. About 600 warrants have been issued in the case.
The spokesman for the Federal Criminal Police Office (BK), Paul Eidenberger, confirmed on Friday a message from the blog “Stadtpolitik” that such a case exists. With regard to ongoing investigations, the BK spokesperson gave no further details.
Hundreds of people involved
According to the blog, about a few hundred people are said to have received vaccinations against Covid-19 at the relevant practice. However, they would never have received the vaccination. The blog referred to an internal letter from the BK. The LKA Lower Austria conducts the investigations at the level of the National Criminal Investigation Service.
Advertised on demos
False vaccination cards of about 400 euros were allegedly advertised at demonstrations and on social networks. The delivery took place on the street or in an apartment in Simmering. The buyers would have been sent to the Vienna Ordination to add to the electronic vaccination register.
They did not have to come to the practice in person. It was sufficient for a representative to appear with the vaccination certificates and the accompanying e-cards.
