Formerly CC. OO., UGT and LAB had issued a joint appeal for the same days, namely October 27 and 28 and November 2. ELA even speaks of a strike of indefinite duration if no agreement is reached on the contract.
The Union THE A has announced that it will call a strike in the Biscay metal the days October 27, 28 and November 2, despite the fact that these days are considered “insufficient”, after the meeting of deputies held this Wednesday and defended “continue to fight to reach an agreement with the content in Metal de Bizkaia”. In this sense, a choice has been made for indefinite strikeif no agreement is reached on the agreement within the three strike days.
This announcement comes after the CC.OO., UGT and LAB also announced a strike on the same three days, a call that the four unions have so far made jointly.
The union center recalls that in July it handed over a proposal for a two-week strike (from September 26 to October 7) to the rest of the unions, a proposal that was rejected by the unions at the September meeting, where they stated their willingness to carry out just three days of strike.
ELA has criticized the preliminary agreement reached by the other three unions in the Metal from Alavawhich he believes is “far below the commitments made”.
According to ELA, this preliminary agreement caused “concern” in Bizkaia, and in view of this, it has asked the rest of the unions to agree on “minimum content” that is respected by all unions and that the salary increases based on the CPI are under others “for all metalworkers and not just those earning the minimum wage in the industry”.
ELA has stated that “unfortunately the rest of the unions refused to make any commitments on the content in order to agree on a new agreement” and assured that to its “surprise” CC’s strike call was known. OO., LAB and UGT.
