“None of the three groups draws red lines to reach a budget agreement”

The Minister of Economy and Finance has held the first budget negotiation meeting with EH Bildu, Elkarrekin Podemos-IU and PP-Cs.

Economy and Finance Minister Pedro Azpiazu has assured after the first budget negotiation meeting to expand support for the Euskadi 2023 budget that none of the three parliamentary groups is setting “red lines” to move forward on a possible agreement.

Azpiazu held the first budget negotiation meeting this Wednesday with the Basque Chamber groups EH Bildu, Elkarrekin Podemos-IU and PP-Cs.

As reported by the Basque government in a note, both EH Bildu and Elkarrekin Podemos-IU have submitted a comprehensive and quantified proposal, which also includes different types of political commitments. PP-Cs, on the other hand, has carried forward issues that require further progress in quantification.

The Minister of Economy has placed the negotiations within the budgetary framework and the competence framework of the Basque government and has assured that he will convene the three groups for a second meeting, after analyzing the documentation received today, in order to continue to work towards achieving of more supports.
