In the offensive war against Ukraine, the invaders are facing major problems. After the recent defeat in Kherson, the combat capability of the Russian armed forces has been seriously affected. The reason for this, according to the British secret services, is the lack of ammunition and trained personnel. A good example is a video of mobilized Russians complaining about inferior equipment and training with sticks instead of guns.
The men from Altai Krai in Siberia addressed their video message to the governor of the region. The uniforms they received are only suitable for “digging in the mud under tanks” and you cannot fight in them, according to the clip published on the Telegram channel of the Russian news platform Readovka News (see below).
Uniforms appeared in business
The all-weather uniforms that are actually planned can be purchased at the local military supply store – with the Army’s trademark on them. He himself bought his uniform there with his own money, according to the group’s spokesperson. The suspicion: the uniforms were stolen from depots and sold by corrupt supply forces.
In the three weeks since training started, there has been no real training, the men keep complaining: “We don’t know anything about tactics, we don’t know anything at all”. They just learned how to put on a tourniquet. Some veterans volunteer to train the mobilized men “who teach us tactics with sticks.” There are no rifles in training in the Orenburg region of Russia, even unloaded ones. Many conscripts hadn’t picked up a gun in ten or twelve years and wouldn’t even learn how to take a gun apart now.
No money for equipment
The soldiers also complain that half of them have no money received to purchase necessary equipment, such as night vision goggles. According to the local newspaper Altapress, newly drafted volunteers and volunteers are paid an allowance of 100,000 rubles (about 1,600 euros). Accordingly, the regional government has responded to the complaints and wants to send representatives to Orenburg.
Videos published online show numerous other abuses in the Russian military. In one instance, “Mobiks” – Russian slang for mobilized – would move into a tent left filthy by the previous service and with destroyed furniture (see below). In another clip, a man is given the uniform in size 56 instead of the required size 43. “Take that damn helmet! Our grandfathers fought and you can too!” the superior calls to him when he wants to complain.
The mobilization continues smoothly
According to military experts, Russia only sends soldiers into battle shortly after recruiting to stabilize the front in Ukraine. 100,000 of the 300,000 soldiers recruited since September would be deployed this way, Colonel Berthold Sandtner recently explained in an interview with the APA. The remaining 200,000 soldiers called up as part of the partial mobilization are currently being formed, trained and equipped. Although the partial mobilization has officially ended, it can be assumed that it will continue quietly and that the number will certainly increase to half a million soldiers. There could be another Russian offensive with fresh troops early next year.
