A 60-year-old driver was killed in a head-on collision on the B 137 near St. Pankraz in Upper Austria. The man collided with his car against a truck.
A 41-year-old Czech drove his truck and trailer on the Pyhrnpass road (B 138) towards Klaus at around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday. An oncoming 60-year-old driver suddenly entered the oncoming lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with the truck.
Died at the scene of the accident
The driver of the car was trapped in the car during the accident. Unfortunately there was no rescue for him, he must have died immediately. It then took about 30 minutes for firefighters to rescue the 60-year-old. The Czech truck driver was not injured.
The Pyhrnpass road was closed in both directions until 9:05 p.m. for recovery and cleanup operations. The result was a mile-long backlog.
