Members of Wagner’s mercenary army threaten retaliation for the alleged murder of their leader. However, the implementation of another putsch can be doubted.
The video looks amateurishly made. Three hooded people stand in the dark, dimly lit. And swear revenge. The Wagner group responded with clear words on their Telegram account.
Threatening “second march on Moscow”
“We say directly that we suspect the Kremlin officials under Putin’s leadership of trying to kill him.” What follows is an open threat to Putin: “If the information about Prigozhin’s death is confirmed, we will make a second one. to Moscow!”
The mercenaries dubbed the coup attempt two months ago the “March of Justice” as they marched towards Moscow before being recalled about 200 kilometers from the city by chief Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The Wagner group was largely disarmed
The Wagner fighters are well trained militarily and were also important in Africa, Syria and Ukraine. It is doubtful whether the country now has the military capabilities to launch a second such march. After the coup ended, the mercenary army was largely disarmed.
Wagner no longer has heavy weapons, the units have been moved. They are already complaining that they are once again poorly equipped and poorly paid. The death of Prigozhin and his deputy Dmitri Utkin will probably mean the end of the Wagner mercenary group.
