Tyrolean World Cup with study – inflation: bakers, butchers and co. sound the alarm

The Tyrolean food industry paints a bleak picture: if sales continue to develop as they have, countless jobs will be at risk. This would also affect the country’s economic output. It would decrease by more than 70 million euros. The representatives substantiate the warning with an investigation.

The rise in prices and inflation, which is still high compared to the euro area, continues to affect almost all sectors in Tyrol. This also applies to the food industry, i.e. bakers, butchers, confectioners and food and beverage companies. Commissioned by the World Cup Guild of the Food Industry, the Association for Applied Economic Research (GAW) has drawn up a study that shows the economic importance of trade in figures.
