“The fire destroyed the water, sewerage, district heating and partly the electricity lines. The cooperative is working with the community to find a quick solution. The concentration of pollutants in the apartments is currently being measured. If the limit values are met, they can be released. We continue to support the police in their investigative work by lighting and pumping out the basement area,” said Markus Scharinger, press spokesperson for the Neusiedl am See fire command.

The fire was extinguished around 2 a.m. A total of 14 vehicles and approximately 70 firefighters from the Neusiedl, Weiden and Jois fire brigades were involved in the fire. By acting quickly, they were able to prevent the flames from spreading to the adjacent underground parking garage.
