An Alaska Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing at Portland International Airport, Oregon, after passengers said it had lost a piece of its fuselage.
The airline said Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, with 171 passengers and six crew members on board, made a safe emergency landing at Portland Airport shortly after takeoff bound for Ontario, California.
Air pressure problem
The crew reported a “pressure problem” before the emergency landing, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a separate statement. The decompression was “explosive” and a flight attendant was slightly injured.
