According to the latest Eustat survey, the sector (including hotels, accommodation, restaurants and bars) grew both in the number of people employed, 5.5% more than in 2021, and in turnover, by 25% more.
The sector of catering industry in Euskadi had an increase in the result for the year by 21.7% in 2022 and thus achieved the best result of the historical series known in the Basque Autonomous Community, according to data compiled by Eustat.

By means of territoriesBizkaia and Gipuzkoa led the increases, with increases of 27 and 20.4%, while in Álava growth was limited to 6.5%. Sales increased in the three areas, although slightly less in Alava (22.4%, compared to 25.3 in Bizkaia and 27.5 in Gipuzkoa).
