Music is disturbing: high politics wants to turn off the power in the Graz club

Date:

Styrian members of the state parliament and club employees feel disturbed by music in one of the courtyards of the mansion. An extensive catalog of measures is currently being developed.

The gallows yard of the Graz manor was once, true to its name, a notorious execution site in the state capital. Fortunately, these dark times are long gone. Instead of the executioners, the bouncers now play fate. Where once doomed people sent their last prayers to heaven, people have been dancing, celebrating and celebrating life long into the night for years. The trendy club “Katze Katze” has long achieved cult status far beyond the city limits of Graz.

But now it may be up to him to hold on to the site’s historical significance. In any case, this conclusion is obvious if you look at the lively correspondence between Department 2, which is responsible for the state’s real estate, and the Directorate of State Parliament.

“Operational suspension”
There you can read about a “closure of activities in the Galgenhof” as well as a “decibel limit”, a “new usage concept” and a “voluntary withdrawal of all business premises permits for the Galgenhof”. The loud club music disturbs the employees in the political offices and also the representatives of the state parliament in their work.

When asked, the management of the state parliament made it clear that it was currently only a draft: they had collected the wishes of all parliamentary groups and transferred them to Division 2 in a coordinated manner.

“Bring it to a common denominator”
“It is about taking into account the needs of employees in political offices and the state parliament in the future. “But I am confident that we will ultimately bring all interests together,” explains department head Christine Klug.

Gerald Schwarz, manager of the Landhauskeller and the club, also remains calm: “We have not played music on meeting days lately because they can last until late at night. Now the wish is that there is no activity at all on these days. Since Tuesday is not our crucial day, this will be feasible.”
