A retired (76) from the US is in Puerto Rico with her “helping bird” -the airline forbids her to take the beloved animal on the plane. On the way the flight everything had worked smoothly …
Maria Fraterrigo (76) from New York is currently experiencing a nightmare: the pensioner is sitting on Puerto Rico with her beloved Parror because an airline suddenly no longer wants to take the bird with them. So she was explained to her at the Switch of Frontier Airlines: “If you want to participate, you first have to get rid of the bird!”
Bird should not have been there
“Plucky” is not a normal pet for Maria, but since her husband’s death her “emotional support”: “Without him I will not even leave the house!” The woman had no problems on the outer flight to Puerto Rico in January: the speaking bird was well housed in a carrying case and check-in also went smoothly. But the return flight on April 5 suddenly said: “No access with parrot!” According to the airline, colleagues in New York made a mistake. The bird should never have flyed from the start.

Son: “, Pluky” is not too much a suitcase “
Frontier Airlines reimbursed the 76-year-old the ticket prize and also offered her the equivalent of 225 euros as a small comfort. But that is not enough for her son Robert. “The airline treats us as if there was too much a suitcase,” he says furiously. “My mother has the doctor’s appointments and needs her medication. She has to go back to New York!”
So far, however, there is no trip home to see. Maria feels “traumatized and abandoned,” said the pensioner. She has already involved lawyers who draw up a claim for damage in the millions.
