Horrible scenes recently took place in a Zillertal outdoor pool: a German is said to have harassed and sexually assaulted a local girl in a changing room. The 33-year-old suspect has since been remanded in custody. The criticism flares up, because without the “crown”, this atrocity would not have come to the attention of the public.
A little Tyrolean is currently part of a care group for the summer holidays. Last week, on a warm day, the supervisor took the children to an outdoor pool in the Zillertal. Unsuspectingly, they all wanted to spend a nice day there. But things turned out differently.
“One of the girls, whom I know well, wanted to change into dry clothes after bathing, so she went into a changing room and locked the door. Suddenly there was a knock and the little one opened the hut because she thought someone wanted to change too,” says an informant from the “Tiroler Krone”.
A man who was a stranger to the girl stood before her and entered the hut. “He immediately locked it again and immediately started to touch the little girl inappropriately and, for example, press his stomach,” the informant explains the cruel details.
“She screamed loudly and hit the cabin”
Fortunately, the young local responded with presence of mind. “She started screaming loudly, banging on the booth and crying – cornering the man. He let her go and opened the booth again. The girl, shocked, ran to her supervisor and told her everything. This inquired the lifeguards in turn. The outdoor pool was completely closed, so the man couldn’t escape,” the insider said. The police were also notified. The officers immediately arrived on the scene and arrested the man.
“It’s about a German in his mid-thirties who was on vacation in the Zillertal,” explains the “Tiroler Krone” insider, asking legitimate questions: “Did the German do anything similar to one or more girls during his vacation? If so, has he perhaps gone further?”
It is a mystery to him why the public is not informed about this incident – for example by the police. “In this sensitive matter, it is important that parents in particular are informed and made aware – so that they in turn can tell their children to be careful while explaining to them how to behave appropriately in such situations.” emphasizes the informant, “and if the man has already touched other girls immorally during his vacation, this may come to light in a conversation with the parents.”
“The man has been arrested”
Hansjörg Mayr, spokesman for the Innsbruck prosecutor’s office, confirmed this incident. “We are investigating a 33-year-old German on suspicion of sexual abuse of minors. According to the suspicion, the man followed a girl into the dressing room on August 4, locked her there, hugged her and touched her inappropriately,” Mayr said. “The police arrested the man in the swimming pool. He has been remanded in custody.” A possible follow-up route will probably also take place in Innsbruck.
